Volunteering at Rekindle: Gaining Skills, Insight for a Future in Psychology

Updated: Apr 1

What led me to reach out to Rekindle was my interest in the type of work this charity does. It stood out to me because it supports ages 16-25, which felt more suitable as it is closer to my own age. Overall, the main reason I reached out was that the charity closely aligns with my career aspirations, and I wanted to learn more about this field and what it involves.

My experience of volunteering has been positive and very beneficial, providing me with more knowledge of this career while helping me develop new skills that will be useful in the future. These skills will also help me apply myself more effectively.

Volunteering has given me a more in-depth understanding of this career path and the types of tasks involved. It has also allowed me to use the experience in my university application to demonstrate my participation and understanding of the sector I aspire to work in.

I would encourage others to volunteer at Rekindle because it offers a great learning experience, allowing people to choose what they want to gain from it. For those interested in careers within psychology, I highly recommend volunteering here, as the experience and knowledge gained can be very useful for career aspirations and decision-making.
